MATTHEW PERKS

Firstly hello and welcome, my name is Matt and I'm the main videographer and creative editor here at Cherished Films.

From an early age I took a keen interest in music and began learning the guitar, my Dad got me started by showing me a few chords and I was hooked. Eventually I went on to study 'Creative Music Performance' at Falmouth university  where I gained a first class degree with honours. Whilst studding, I was always fascinated by the video production side of things and found it to be a powerful tool for story telling, this got me hooked, the urge soon became a passion as I enjoyed developing my creative skills in videography, video production and lighting.

 

After graduating I spent a considerable amount of  time filming music and corporate projects which would also include food, sports, travel and health & safety . Working in different scenarios would prove to be invaluable in becoming an all round videographer, this gave me the confidence to take on many challenging projects with ease, including greenscreen productions and live-streaming events. Eventually I gravitated towards weddings. Although I still enjoy working on various projects there's nothing quite like filming a wedding. Being part of  such a special day, packed with fun and emotion helps me to create wedding films that puts couples right back in the moment every time they watch them. I'm passionate and professional and most importantly a husband and a father to four amazing children.
